Leyton Orient supporter laat £150,000 achter na zijn doodFootball fan leaves £150,000 to London football team in his will.

John Burman is een 55-jarige Leyton Orient supporter die Mei dit jaar is overleden aan kanker. Hij kwam al zijn hele leven lang bij de Londense voetbalclub.

John Burman is a Leyton Orient supporter who loved his team so much he left them £150,000 in his will. He passed away from cancer in May.

John had de bijnaam ‘Chingford John’ en volgde zijn team overal in Engeland, zowel bij thuiswedstrijden als uitwedstrijden. Hij was een echte Orient supporter. Door het geld wat hij heeft achter gelaten zal de club blijven groeien zo meld de voorzitter van de club.

John Burman was geboren in Stoke Newington en is beschreven door zijn vrienden als een echte Engelsman. Hij werkte bijna zijn gehele leven op het spoor. Hij had een passie voor films en punk rock muziek.

The club chairman Barry Hearn said: “This is a wonderful gesture from John who was by all accounts a remarkable man. The 55-year old supporter was known as ‘Chingford John’ and was following his team around the country, home and away matches, whatever the weather.

“He was a true Orient supporter. The significant money he has left will ensure that his legacy lives on and the club he so passionately supported can continue to grow.” added the club chairman.

John Burman was born in Stoke Newington and was described by friend as a proud Englishman, who worked most of his life as a signal operator on the railways. He had a passion for films and punk rock music along with supporting his boyhood team the Leyton Orient.

His legacy will live on as a member of the Leyton Orient Supporters Club and season tickets holder with his huge donation to the League One club.
