Police brutality and injustice once again in Holland!

The supporters of Feyenoord Rotterdam planned a protest today because their club lost the last 7 matches in the Eredivisie and according to the supporters from Rotterdam this is the fault of the directive board and general manager Eric Gudde. The supporters demanded the staff would leave the club and to make a statement they organized a protest march with empty cardboard boxes so they could start packing.

They protest was a friendly and silent protest, all the organizers of the protest announced on the social media nobody should use violence since the police was probably going to provoke them so the protest could be ended. Check the video below for a shot of the protest march.

The protest march went from their training ground to the stadium, however they were stopped by police when they almost arrived at the stadium. The riot police formed a line so nobody could get through. What happened after that is still a bit unclear however messages are reaching us the police have been at it once again by beating innocent bystanders and arresting them.

The whole group of protesters was directed through a small alleyway where they were closed in by riot police from both sides. What happened after this is so crazy we can’t even believe this. Every protester, who was doing something which is legal in Holland, had to take a picture of them holding their identification card. Who refused to go on the picture was arrested and brought to the police station. The police told the media everyone could go inside the stadium when all the pictures would have been taken.

After a while, when everyone got their picture taken, the police told everyone they had to go by coaches to the police station in the city. This meant over 100 innocent protesters got arrested because they were walking with empty cardboard boxes above their head. The police posted on Twitter everyone had been arrested because they had been some fighting, which is ofcourse a lie. Later on the day the police said these measures have been taken because the march left to early. Really?

The latest statement of the police is as following: Everyone has been arrested because there was no permit for the protest march. It is legal to protest however a permit is required when the protest starts to move from one to another location. Because of this everyone had to go on a picture holding their identification card and everyone received a fine of € 220,-.

Here we go again. Exactly the same as the Green Brigade faced at the Gallowgate. Fans wanting to peacefully protest and when they do the police provoke.
When there is no drama created by peaceful fans the police will use the tiniest of inappropriate laws to film, fine and dish out injustice.
And to think there are 100s of peaceful football fans now have criminal records for walking less than a kilometre with a cardboard box above their heads.
This is what a football fan faces in today’s police state.
Perhaps #FAC could take become popular even in mainland Europe.

    #Fuck the ME
    #Fuck the Police
    #ACAB
    #1312

    • Seems like criminalising law abiding football fans is all the rage now. More fans need to back those who are attacked by the state and ACAB for no reason.
