530 fans arrested in Darmstadt yesterday

The police in Darmstadt(Germany) have arrested around 530 people around the derby between Darmstadt 98 and Eintracht Frankfurt.

The fans of Eintracht Frankfurt were misbehaving in the city center. They were lighting fireworks, destroyed a pub and insulted the police. The police were present with around 1700 police officers. The match was won by the visiting club Eintracht Frankfurt.

The fans of Eintracht Frankfurt were not allowed to visit the match and at first they weren’t allowed to visit the city either, this decision was made by the German football association. However at the last minute the prohibition for the Eintracht Frankfurt fans to enter the city was lifted, so a lot of them went to Darmstadt.

About 139 of the 530 arrested fans were taken to the police station, he others were told to leave the city center.
